Default The New Site!

Well, the first thing I should say is welcome to my website folks. It has been a long time coming and I'm very glad to be saying it is finally here. Many thanks to Fionn for his hard work in building it and to everyone else who has taken or will take the time to come on and contribute here. I am excited about this project and hope everyone here will enjoy it as much as I hope I do. Feel free to email me or pose questions here and from time to time I hope to be able to come on and contribute here too. Any questions regarding the site should be directed to Fionn as this is most definately his area of expertise and certainly not mine!!

Well thats about it, so all that remains is for me to once again wish you all welcome!

G'day Gary,

Great to see you got your site set up a chara. How was the US? Did you play anywhere other than New York? Did you managed to catch up with Chris? Hope all is well mate.

If you mean Chris Byrne then I think he did - Chirs posted on The Pogues forum telling me he was going out for a pint with Gary.

Alright Matt, yes I did meet up with Chris. Had a few pints and debated the existence of God until 5am. The kind of thing you do in NY when drunk!!!

Wee Mark: I am about to begin recording my first cd in 3.5 years. Long overdue now but hopefully will be ready around March.......ish.

Gary Achara,

Congratulations on the website! It's lookin' brilliant and I wish you all the best with it!
The upcoming cd...will this feature your solo work or will you be joined by The Exiles or what's the craic?

How were the crowds in and around Boston for you?

All the best now,

Matt

I'm also quite interested in this rumoured new CD

Is it going to have the same feel as the previous ones (not a bad thing mind) or are you going out on a limb with an acid jazz venture???

Are the tunes going to be ones you've already played or is it all new?

Have you ever recorded The Man From The Daily Mail or Fenian Record Player? Two good light hearted songs right there.

Hello Gary you probably don't know me but I have talked to you on quiet a few occasions, last time being down in the Irish centre in manchester(in the jacks sounds bad).I requested you played bob marley the redemption song, you said you couldnt as it wouldnt be lively enough for the evening that was in it which was fair enough.I gave you a wee pin badge of our club Laois csc last January 06 in the Brazen Head when you filled in for a few songs.

I remember telling you the story of the day I went on the beer with you in the Emerald Isle that night but you could'nt remember. It was the day after the Hearts game(2nd last home game 2 weeks before seville 03)

You were meant to play a set that sunday afternoon in Bar 67 there wasnt many around the gallowgate except for a group from our club about 25 of us.We waited all day for you to come in and play no sign,So we went into the emerald Isle and low and behold here you were proping up the bar drinking a few bottles of becks. We had a gud auld laugh with you and I brought in the poster of your gig advertised in bar 67 and you wrote canceled all accross it ha ha.We ended up missing our plane home that night as we went out to the brazen to listen to you!Great craic tough!

Just wondering do you have any stuff released recently that I havent got? I Have 2 old Eire og CDs,Have you with sean Lyons, and live in glasgow,Have st pauli dvd with you.Is there anymore stuff availible?

I be interested in any other stuff that you may have Rebel or not!

Anyway sorry for boring you with these stupid stories.Keep singing mate you have the best voice in the business you version of when only rivers run free would bring a tear to a glass eye!

All the best
